What major historical events do you remember?

I was young back then. My memories faded but I remember a man called Richard who launched me out of a catapult into the sea to escape the invasion of Hastings. Unlucky for me I landed on a sail of the enemy ship and slid down into the arms of a large bearded man. He handed me over to the captain. If my memory serves me right it was back in the year of our lord 1066.
They kept me alive as I was a child and made me into a slave but it was here I learned how to row the boat on a diet of fish soup and bread. It wasn’t that bad actually. I grew strong quickly as a Saxon.
The captain later took a shine to me as I loved the ocean so much and always showed enthusiasm for the ship. Later on the Captain named Ivan took me back with him to his homeland and raised me as his own. I was an orphan before so I adapted quite easily.
My new father Ivan taught me everything from sailing a ship to hunting and sword making. As time passed I became interested in chemicals and their reactions. This happened because I was introduced to the village warlock who had many names given to him and many feared him but not me as I had made him a sword from a metal that i had found which broke as soon as he swung it into the anvil testing it out.
To my amazement he joined the 2 pieces back together and poured a chemical over them. Smoke and a green mist rose from the sword and then he spoke to it using a language that I didn’t understand and then the sword was magically fixed. The warlock loved my interest in his magic and we spent many moons together with me as his acting apprentice. I learned so much that my life changed. The villagers respected me. Just before the warlock died he gave me back the sword and as I held it he recited some words that he had never revealed before. I then blacked out.
I remember waking up and the warlock had sadly turned to dust but the knowledge I had learned has served me since then. I took his scrolls because nobody else could read but me and put my sword under my fleece. It was a small sword made from something that I had found in the mountains. More about this later.
Over the centuries I have loved only a few women and lived on vegetables rice and chicken as my main diet with a glass of water with every meal and drinking wine on the odd occasion.
Time passed by many moons on my travels….
I sat with King Arthur at the round Table and sir Lancelot and entertained them with my adventures and tales. They introduced me to Merlin and for 7 years I worked in his laboratory and we swapped knowledge. He envied me though as he grew old and weary due to my youthful appearance. He never once realised that the Sword i had with me was the secret to my power of keeping my youth. It wasn’t anything like King Arthur’s sword. Mine was classed as a poor man’s sword as it was undecorated. They never knew that it was made from a meteorite that had fallen from the heavens which I had then forged myself and been blessed by the warlocks magic.
I’ve been fortunate to meet Voltaire as well as many high profile individuals. I moved to Germany for a while and concentrated on my skills including growing my alchemy and arts. I learned to read music with Beethoven and became friends with Mozart at a drunken feast in France. This guy was a real scoundrel but had great taste in fashion. The girls loved him more than I. Every time I think of him I still can’t help but to smile. Around those times Italy was a place to be seen so I went there by horseback and it was here that I met Casanova. He didn’t like me much. The only skill he had was seducing women and nothing else. Yawn so much back then I did in his company. He wasn’t even an attractive man but he was good with words which women liked. He envied my shows of alchemy deeply. I never once ever unveiled how I created things which Casanova found frustrating to say the least.
More times went by and I passed some of my knowledge onto Nikolai Tesla. He knew me at the time as Frederick Dupont and during the war I had to steal an old trawler in Dresden and then set sail to Grenada to escape the conflict because the Nazis were looking for me you see because of that damn suitcase Tesla had given me. Obviously they had got to him. I honestly didn’t know what was in it at the time as I had left in haste from his instruction with a plus of a nice Vermeer.

Decades passed and I was last seen in public back in the 1980’s and made a conscious decision to keep moving under different identities as I had been labelled for a few hundred years with a name which I had used as a decoy other than that of Frederick Dupont. I’ve been travelling back and forth for the last 70 years learning new things and enjoying so many experiences.
You may know me as the Count of St Germain. My real name is Mr X. Right now I’m leaving your present time of 2024 as I have a fondness for 1970s New York scene at the moment. These Harlem girls in roller skates really know how to move and they have no idea that street art and hip hop is just around the corner.

Written nicely.👍
