Sirens
Raquel Welch & Ursula Andreas. Acrylic on canvas board.Size 24×20 inch.
Raquel Welch and Ursula Andress star together as Sirens on a beautiful island of Jurassic nature. Magazine Heaven gave me the inspiration to create this poster. The films named 1 million years BC and Dr no featured these beautiful women and that’s why these movies stand the test of time. This piece is a fusion of both icons in an entirely new environment. They were known as sirens back in the day and still dominate the screen today.

I have no rival
Acrylic on canvas board. Size 24×20 inch.
Alain Delon the french actor from Purple Noon. The original Talented Mr Ripley. When it came to looks Alain Delon had no rival. Painted from an original frame in the movie. With his face having a renaissance god like look Alain Delon was the envy of Bridget Bardot as she felt intimidated by his beauty. They both became very good friends.

After a night out
Acrylic on canvas board. Size 24×20 inch.
Monica has returned home from a night out. So what exactly transpired throughout the evening? I became inspired to paint this from an old collage that I had created a few years back. This painting is an adaptation of a Marilyn Monroe collage within this portfolio. I ended up making many changes to move with the times.

Another Private viewing
Size 24×20 inch. Acrylic on canvas board.
Monica attends another private viewing at a gallery. It seems paintings are not the only thing on her mind. My inspiration for this painting came from the actress walking on the beach wearing this outfit. I thought that it didn’t suit the environment so recreated a new one and added some of my earlier paintings in the background.

A concept piece with a Gaga Monroe essence. A3 in size and created on mixed media paper using Polychromos pencils for the subject and acrylic paint for the background. I wanted to create something new combining 2 major icons with an added touch of animal instinct.

The Joker Arthur Fleck
This piece was created in 2020 using pastels and mixed media on paper. 60x80cm in size. The main influence behind this project was to show Arthur Fleck as happy as I could make him be as the movie focused mainly on his transition into the Joker from a sad clown. The original of this piece was sold in 2024. Prints of this piece shown above are currently available at Magazine Heaven at Rushden lakes.

Wednesday Addams
This piece has just been completed October 2024. Size 60x80cm Liquitex Acrylic on thick framed canvas. The idea behind this piece was to create a poster for season 2 on netflix for 2025. Wednesday has matured now and no longer the little girl. She’s now a full on detective solving crimes with the FBI or something like that. Purely conceptual with the haunted house theme. Reminds me of scooby doo. Prints of this piece maybe available at some point in the future.

Aristotle’s Garden
This collage I put together to create a magical feeling of meeting up at a beautiful garden. Vintage pieces from old broken magazines cut and pasted to make a new environment with a story based theme of wonder. An entirely new design via recycled materials. The finishing touch was the statue which gave this piece something that was missing.

David Bowie Ziggy Stardust
This piece is what got me back into painting after a long break. Back in 2016 I saw this online somewhere and it inspired me to paint a possible better version. Originally painted with Gouache on watercolor paper I sadly lost this piece as I stupidly cut it up into another artwork ahich failed miserably so it got binned. Luckily I had it kept on file. Prints of this piece I previously sold online and at an indoor Market stall I had a few years back at St Ives in Cambridgeshire. David always has had an impact on me especially with his advice that I saw on how to cut up paper and then randomly pick out the words to find inspiration. He did this for his songs that also fuelled his art.
Â
Â

Mad Hatter
This design follows the surreal aspect. The prompt I received from this design was from the Mad Hatter himself and the rest just fell into place. Source materials vintage magazines. The Hatters on the run holding his pint whilst pushing his way through floating lettering. Big brother sees everything through the camera lenses.

Aristotle’s Study
If this man was alive today I wonder what his study would look like. The idea came from an old broken antique book that I owned. The book in this artwork gave me the prompt to cut it out and then build the study around it. Many parts were used to make this design from different vintage magazines.

50’s New York
Just imagine being back in the 50’s at this top floor lounge bar. A beautiful view of the city at night. This artwork was formed from a mixture of old publications to construct and entirely new environment. What stands out for me is the giraffe sofa which remarkably doesn’t look out of place.

Audrey Hepburn
The year was 1961 when Breakfast at Tiffany’s was launched to the world. I wonder what story would fit to this design. More info on this piece on my posts..
Â

New York evening out
Friends meeting up for an evening meal at a New York restaurant comes to mind for this piece. I had to create the idea of windows so cut the frames to give the impression of them being behind the dinner guests. Many parts from different publications were used to create this look with the added benefit of neon lighting on the inside of the glass to confirm the window view. I’m drawn to vintage collages but instead of just doing design arrangements I try and create a story theme using intuition of what feels right and then I go with the flow until there is an environment which grabs some attention.
Â

Alice meets Kinky boots
There’s been so many spins on Alice in wonderland that the mind boggles. This design is like a dolls house view from the observer in the background for the viewer to also observe on the outside of the picture. A surreal energy dominates this design which took hours of slow cutting and pasting to put together. When your making pieces like this the subject material is very thin on the ground to be found out there whilst sourcing. You often don’t get second chances if you make a mistake. It’s a fiddly task at times as well as juggling things around making them fit within the theme and getting the perspective to work in conjunction with what you have at hand.
Â

Marilyn Monroe
A rustic looking setting constructed from a ripped off cover from an old book. I liked the texture it gave for a wall so built the other parts around it to work in harmony. Sometimes less is more and the pink boots are the hook for me in this one. The environment feels seductive in an old worldly way for romantics. If you have the imagination from just a simple prompt such as an old ripped book cover the rest will find a way of telling you if it works or not. Sometimes no plan and a random piece from here and there feels like they were always meant to be together. It’s a priceless feeling when you’ve created something which didn’t exist and given it a life of it’s own.

A Fairytale in Vegas
Something’s happened and the statue has fallen through the window and broken the glass. The surprised look on the girls face says it all. I used a postage stamp on the wine bottle to simulate the label and the broken windows were pasted in from 30 micron clear polyester film and then brushed over with paint to give the viewer the impression of dusty old broken glass. I really enjoyed making this and found it a real challenge by colliding 2 conflicting elements being a small fairy and the Vegas strip. A surreal arrangement of pieces of paper to make an interesting story within a picture for discussion.
Â

Picasso the main man
How many people actually draw or paint Picasso? I couldn’t find much at all on the main man himself so I did this in pastel. When I look at this for some reason it gives me the feeling of he could have been Captain kirks father. It’s the colours that do it for me. Pastels a lovely way of working with your fingers as well but I hate the mess and dust it leaves after and then you have to make sure you’ve used a fixative that doesn’t kill the vibrance of the artwork.

Che Guevara
This Artwork was sprayed directly onto an old art book page that I had sanded down. I then airbrushed this widely used image through a stencil and then added vintage 80’s original letraset which was a task in itself as it was so old that the transfer turned to grit but I liked it. I also broke the rules with this by using no grid system and laid each letter down randomly where it felt right. I’m a fan of the Designer David Carson which actually inspired me to make this piece. David broke all the rules in design which really appeals to me. Being constrained when being productive and imaginative can sometimes be off putting and kill the flow of being a creator. We are all inherently creators in this world and rebellion in itself has brought to the surface some great talents out there.

Busy Boy
This was actually an advertising design that I constructed to show the power of coffee for your love life. I love the vintage colours from old publications and fusing them together to make something entertaining and entirely new and different.

Chucky Joker
This is a small painting I did some years back in Gouache and mixed media on watercolour paper. Size A4. I wanted to do Heath ledger but did something else with it instead. The end result to me still feels kind of Kitshe.

The Reality Simulator
If you follow sci-fi and conspiracy stories then you’ll probably have heard of the Chronovisor. Apparently it was a time viewing machine which was in the possession of father Ernetti at the Vatican back in the 60’s.
This piece was made with the chronovisor in mind but different. A reality simulator that could create any simulation out of paper. Afterwards I realised that I myself was the reality simulator creator by actually making the artwork from old broken magazines. Just imagine if this actually came into real life via a machine to create new realities.

Eye Spy
Statues always grab my attention on so many aspects. They easily lend themselves to a multitude of ideas and concepts when making any new design. This piece was constructed as a an old postcard. The background was originally the cover from a vintage photography magazine which was painted over with acrylic inks and dry brushed with some titanium white. This is a simple design which I feel works nicely together.

Chocolate Wonka
I made this a while back. French pastels on pastel paper. Size A2. The idea was to create a Chocolate Wonka. A controversial piece this ended up as in the end.

The Asset Manager
Cooking the books is what this piece ended up looking like. A rich antiques dealer who sends stuff from his warehouse worldwide to black market buyers comes to mind. This piece features cloth from book covers and part of a shutter from a garage door. I felt a good story could be made from this one.

Charlie & the Wonka Wall
The idea for Charlie and the Wonka Wall came from watching Mr Brainwash videos on the web. I just made my own spin of his street art but without the street art being added. Size A3 with mixed media on paper. Polychromos pencils and acrylic paints.

Night outside the Museum
After watching night at the museum on TV I ended up making this out of an old history book and a selection of old magazines laying around. These guys have come to life and left the museum for a night out. She could have at least dressed better for the occasion but saying this statues can get away with it.
Never forget that big brother is always watching you.

An innocent man
Toblerone advertising concept collage. Psycho is innocent on this occasion.

Sex Lies & Vegas
A picture postcard concept featuring the dangers of sex ,lies and Vegas.

The Spirit called
This piece was created from vintage magazines, an old history book and some photography magazines. The wall in the background I painted green and and other colours over a sanded down magazine page and then added the pathway and telephone box last. Who’s actually calling who?

The 3d Spectrum
Random pieces made this and then I inked in the filters and background. It’s great fun painting inks over sanded down magazine images creating different effects.

Money Magic
One of my personal favourite collages. A postcard theme with elements of Warhol, David Carson and Chris Ashworth. It’s rough and ready. Marker pen boarders and an old torn russian bank note. Lots of different materials were used in this piece and the design was so randomly slapped together but it was like being able to play and have some real fun especially when I placed the letraset inside with no grid system. The hook for me in this piece is the numbers 4444. The universe communicates to me through art and I’m very conscious of channeling into it at times. Random works really can be such fun if your mind is feeling intuitive.

Moon Vacation
A meal on the moon sounds good to me. I added the broken wall in the background to act as a possible prop for an actual normal restaurant with a moon wallpaper. I try and make some of my collages story or themed based as conversation pieces. Simple paper arranging doesn’t float my boat. Funs in the struggle to put something together that speaks.

New York to Cairo
I really feel drawn to colour mixed with monochrome. I spent time on trying to create a story to this piece but changed my mind as it makes an interesting subject to observe and comment on in itself. This originally was an old advertisement from the early 50’s. The view out of the window now exists with a real photo from New York. 2 new characters have been added and some paint.

Brainy Guy
I made this through a stencil and some Airbrush + paint. This was one of those things you do on a lazy day of feeling lost on what to do. Ai could have made this in a second. Took me 2 hours. Personally I never bonded with it. The only reason I kept it was because I’ve actually had some positive comments on it.
Â

A boring conversation
Who’s boring who? Who’s watching who? Who’s thinking about who? If your nosey then that’s you and maybe them too. Believe it or not the coloured stripes came from an old boat. The entire environment was built around 2 people.

Caesars Moon Palace
A card game & a gambling tab with a surreal dolphin jumping for a treat. That’s gotta cause a splash. Vintage off world sci-fi enjoying drinks with the Romans. Or could it be just a card game with a wallpaper background and a Caesar mask as a prank?

Mao pop exhibit A
A different spin of Warhol’s pop art. Sanded vintage book page and stencil + airbrush with inks.

Mao pop exhibit B
Worn out book page sanded down and stencil+ airbrush and inks.

Invaders
This was a larger approx A0 size street art piece I put together. Mr Brainwash and Shepherd Farey influence behind this. It was created on CS10 illustration board from old magazines, spray cans and stencils with some collage and hand painting.
Â

Love Art
Collage and lots of things going on in this piece. When I displayed this at auction another artist actually bid on it and won it at a charity event. I was actually surprised that another artist bought something off me.

Floating Gods
This piece was a random challenge I gave myself to cut and paste something quickly with no attention to thought. Lots of torn pieces in this as well. I ended up thinking a bit and added some old statues and some paint. I’ve had comments given to me that it gives the feeling of being under water in a coral reef.

The Master Class
Created on CS10 illustration board around A0 in size. A mixture of collage, hand painting, pencils, spray cans and ink.
